- Fluffy Retreat Ferret Rescue
Fluffy Retreat Ferret Rescue is a ferret rescue established in 2010 – originally as a halfway house for ferrets waiting for rescue placements and has grown into a rescue in it’s own right. Fluffy Retreat is now a registered charity: 1163841
All ferrets are neutered, microchipped and vaccinated with Nobivac (1 full vial), before rehoming. (With the exception that kits are not neutered until they are mature, but can be rehomed with a contract for their new owners to neuter them). Their vaccination cards will be given to the new owners along with relevant paperwork.
Homechecks are carried out before any adoptions are considered.
Fluffy Retreat came about by chance. I had, for a few years, been used to taking in ferrets in urgent need of care. Those with longer term health problems, with a limited prognosis, live out their days here where possible. The name was just one of those things said as a joke in conversation that ended up sticking.
In 2010 I moved into my current premises and started taking in emergency rescue cases in my area. It was not until the spring of 2011 that Fluffy Retreat officially opened it’s doors as a small ferret rescue. Fluffy Retreat also works with other local rescues in undertaking foster care for residents who need longer for rehabilitation.
Throughout the year I have ferrets available for rehoming. These can be found on the adopt a ferret page.
